Residents should attempt to use a plunger on backed up toilets, sinks and tub before submitting a maintenance request. If the line is backed up due to the Residents inappropriate or excessive use (i.e.; hair, food, paper products, etc.), Resident will be responsible for all costs to snake the drain. Garbage Disposals Please download our Garbage Disposal Troubleshooting Guide which outlines several simple steps to get your disposal working again. Trouble Shooting Garbage Disposal. Electrical Problems Residents should check the circuit breakers and GFI red reset buttons on all outlets before submitting a maintenance request for electrical issues. If you are unsure where to find the main circuit breaker for unit, please contact the main office. Light Bulbs & Fixtures Residents are responsible for replacing all light bulbs. Before requesting repairs on light fixtures, please make sure all light bulbs have been replaced. Pilot Lights If your water heater, heating system and/or stove/oven are gas operated and aren't working, Residents should check to see if the pilot light is lit before submitting a maintenance request. If the flame is not lit, please carefully follow the instructions on the unit to relight. If you are unsure where to look or how to light your pilot light, please contact the main office. Heating Filters Replacing the HVAC filters is the resident's responsibility. We recommend changing out the filters quarterly (every 3 months) to lower energy costs and to ensure optimal performance of the system. Smoke Detectors Resident's are responsible for changing the batteries in their smoke detector(s). If your unit starts making a chirping sound, the battery will need to be replaced. |
